40 Years Anniversary Tour
Celebrating forty monumental years of power metal, Helloween stormed into London’s Eventim Apollo with a show that reminded everyone why they’re still one of the genre’s great live acts. The crowd needed no warming up, from the opening moments fists were raised, voices were loud and the energy never dipped.

The band’s phenomenal LED stage production turned the venue into a neon cathedral of metal, with huge display screens, lasers and, of course plenty of pumpkins. By the second song, co-lead singer Andi Deris had the crowd singing at full volume, though it’s doubtful they needed much encouragement. Sharing the mic with Michael Kiske, the duo’s interplay was seamless, their contrasting vocals lifting each classic to new heights.

Sascha Gerstner’s meticulous solos sliced through the mix, especially during Future World, which became a massive singalong before flowing neatly into This Is Tokyo. Twilight of the Gods featured a nostalgic arcade-game animation on the giant screen, while drummer Dani Löble’s solo quite literally had him smashing those pumpkins before launching the crowd into another frenzy.

A short acoustic interlude showcased the singers’ chemistry, with Heartbeat delivering a powerful emotional punch as the full band joined in. Later, Heavy Metal (Is the Law) reignited the pit, front-row headbangers and crowd-surfers feeding off the energy. New track Universe offered a different pace. Less technical, but more heartfelt, its length and soaring emotion perfectly matched by immersive visuals that kept the audience locked in.

By the finale, the venue was buzzing, the air thick with nostalgia and joy. Helloween didn’t just celebrate their 40th anniversary they reaffirmed why they remain one of metal’s most enduring and electrifying forces.
