The headliner W.A.S.P who has not played the USA in ten years hits the stage to a more than enthusiastic crowd
W.A.S.P. last toured the U.S. in 2010, and their last U.S. show took place in 2013 at the M3 Rock Festival. Joining Lawless on the upcoming trek are bassist Mike Duda, who has been with the band since 1995; guitarist Doug Blair, who has been with the band since 2006; and relative newcomer Aquiles Priester, who joined in 2017.
W.A.S.P: A lesson in “give the people what they want”. While there was not much in the way of deep cuts, Blackie and band performed an hour, 45-minute set of “hits”, classics, and fan favourites that put an exclamation point on the band’s return to the North American market.
Visually, the show was appealing, but not the spectacle some were hoping for… still the use of video and imagery enhanced the experience, and is appropriate for theatre sized venues.
Set List
Doug Blair (guitar), Mike Duda (bass), and Aquiles Priester (drums) formed a tight unit, and an added touch was every past member of WASP being acknowledged in a video montage as the show ended. A solid night of entertainment!
