Some comments from voters

"I buy Cd's exclusively however I pick up vinyl" Jim

"Vinyl when at home Stream otherwise" Robert

"I BUY CDs, but I LISTEN to streaming. It saves me from having to whip out a CD every time I want to listen to music and most of what I stream is stuff I've purchased anyway. I also stream new stuff to decide whether or not I should buy something (and if I like it, I buy it). "

"The convenience of streaming is too attractive to me. I’m not enough of an audiophile for other media to draw me away, but I recognize bands don’t make shit from streaming. For the artists I like, I try to support them through buying tickets to shows and mail-order

merch if they don’t tour the U.S. frequently enough to see them live." Eric

"Usually CD or mp3 ripped from my CD collection. Hardly ever use Streaming (my daughter uses it a lot). When the mood is good and nobodys home, I enjoy a vinyl record."

"Usually CD or mp3 ripped from my CD collection. Hardly ever use Streaming (my daughter uses it a lot). When the mood is good and nobody's home, I enjoy a vinyl record. " Sven

"Today, I choose stream because I am at work so I listen through my phone. Overall it's mostly streaming and CDs" Jorge

"Stream in the car, vinyl or cd at home" Kevin

" All of my music is on CDs, which for convenience I rip to locally stored FLAC files, and that's what I listen to." Tethys

"I buy CDs and Normally I rip them to hear in the car, in the computer or iPod" Carlos

"I chose mp3 because I have all my music saved on a portable hard drive. Most of it was ripped from cds, some from online, and all the new stuff is from purchases on bandcamp. I usually then buy the cd from the band at a show." Glen

"I want a copy the only way to go I’m old school plus I want the money to go to the band not that they make much from me buying there cd !!!!!! Plus I like get them signed by the band" Leo

"I admit stream most of my music but I still have my CDs and make sure to buy them of bands I like."

"Combo of streaming (tidal), vinyl and cd" Stefanos

Conclusion

Metalheads in the age groups of 35-60 seem to be the biggest consumers of multi formats who like to support the bands out there with their wallets. Lifestyles and forced technology have forced this group to adapt to a multi format music world. As an example cars no longer have CD players hence users move to streaming while driving whereas when they are home they prefer to put on an LP or CD. Many users will buy Cds to support bands then rip Mp3's onto Iphone. While others have abandoned physical media all together and just stream out of convenience.
