Stryper To Begin Recording Their Next Studio Album Says Michael Sweet

As posted on Stryper's Michael Sweet social media Jan 15, 2024

It’s hard to believe that we’re hitting the studio once again in just a few days. I’m always completely blown away by the fact that I still get to do what I love to do.

It’s never been about being a “rock star” for me. Or achieving fame & fortune. It’s always been about a deep passion within me. To write music that moves and to write lyrics that heal.

It hasn’t been an easy road. From the beginning I’ve sacrificed so much to be able to continue doing what I was born to do yet if I had to do it all over again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.

From working multiple jobs throughout junior high and high school to pay for gear and demos to paying to play and loading in and loading out at 2:00 am. The ups and downs, the highs and lows and all of the in-between. It’s my life and my legacy.

I’m just as passionate at 60 as I was at 6. That will never change. It’s what drives me and what makes me complete.

Never pursue music for fame. Never pursue it for fortune. Do it for the love of music and for the fact that one note or lyric you write may have a profound impact on one soul. That’s reason enough and nothing is more gratifying.

I hear other musicians talk about how they do it for the money, the chicks, the exposure, the notoriety. What a waste. Do it for the joy. Life will honor that. God will honor that.

I thank you all for every opportunity and for giving me the platform to continue on. I will forever be indebted to you

Here’s to the best one yet and stay tuned for photos and videos as we get it done
