On the verge of the band's 40th anniversary, Anthrax's Scott Ian reflects on early music-making, stories from the road, and future projects with rock journalist Eddie Trunk.
About Scott Ian Certainly the most recognizable member of Anthrax, Scott writes all the band's lyrics and is its rhythm guitarist. He also is an author, having released two books - the autobiographical I'm The Man: The Story of That Guy From Anthrax (2015), Access All Areas: Stories from a Hard Rock Life (2017), and was invited by DC Comics to write the comic book Lobo, Highway To Hell. 2014 and 2018 saw Ian touring the UK, North America, and Australia on his Speaking Words tour, entertaining audiences with the life and times of Scott Ian. He is a founding member of the thrash band Stormtroopers of Death, an avid poker player, and had his moment of undead glory when he played a zombie in an episode of The Walking Dead for the series' fifth season. Most recently, he co-wrote and recorded the comedy/metal album, Grandpa Metal, with long-time friend, comedian/actor Brian Posehn, and joined Mr. Bungle for that band's first shows in 20 years as well as for the recording of their next album, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny (release date TBA).
