The Metal Voice spoke to solo artist and Motley Crue guitarist John 5 at the 7th annual Metal Hall of Fame in Anaheim California (Jan 24,2024), who was there inducting guitarist and friend Tom Morello.
John 5 also talked about the musical direction of new Motley Crue album and his upcoming solo tour.

When asked about what Tom Morello's guitar work means to the metal and Hard Rock community
"Well here's the honest answer to that question. Every few years, every couple of decades a guitar player comes along who's done something completely different, completely revolutionary and that's exactly what Tom (Morello) did. He totally did something so different. I am so honored to be here to induct Tom. I've know Tom for a lot of years and he deserves it."
When asked about ah update on the new Motel Crue Album
"Well we're writing songs and a new song will be coming out soon and it's really great and I'm super excited and I can't wait."
When asked to Describe the musical direction of the New Motley Crue Album
"It's heavy great songs. I would say you could easily hear this off the Dr. Feelgood album"
For over 30 years, JOHN 5 has been one of the most in-demand guitar players on the planet. As well being as a songwriter/guitarist for hire, JOHN 5 has shared the stage as axe-man for Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and Rob Halford. He has also worked with an impressive array of names, from all walks of music, including KD Lang, Rod Stewart, David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Tina Guo, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meatloaf, Dolly Parton, and Ricky Martin. In October 2022, it was announced that JOHN 5 would be joining Mötley Crüe as their guitarist following the announcement that Mick Mars would be retiring. JOHN 5 continues to tour with Mötley Crüe on their 2023 world tour with Def Leppard, with dates coming up in Japan and Australia. To call JOHN 5 a shredder does not do him justice. There’s little he can’t put his hand to.
