Iron Maiden Will Cover The Remaining Costs Of Paul Di'Anno's Operation(s)

As posted today on Cart & Horses Facebook Page June 20 2022

"Announcement on Paul Di’Anno’s fundraising!

I am very excited to announce that the Iron Maiden team have kindly agreed to cover the remaining cost of Paul Di'Annio's operation. Not only are Iron Maiden the best band on this planet, they are kind-hearted and supported by an amazing team. As a result of this fantastic news, I will be closing the fundraising on the 21st June 2022.

I would like to express my huge thanks to everyone that has donated, you all made a difference and made this happen for Paul.

There are so many individuals and bands who have worked with me behind the scenes on this tremendous journey. I'm so grateful and thankful to you all, I'd love to name every single one of you but it would be a never-ending list as there are SO many of you, you guys are incredible!

I would not have made it this far without our designer Robert Stivicic, from the start to the end of this fundraiser, we have achieved some stunning merchandise - I'm sorry for being too picky sometimes (ok, all the time) but we got there in the end!

WARHORSE bundles signed by Paul are still available, if you like to still help please order them before they all go.

Also without Stjepan and Violeta Juras this would not have been possible, as they took so much of their time to help, organise and support Paul in Croatia, especially with his daily needs.

I'd like to thank Paul for placing so much trust in me even though we've had our differences (sorry Paul, all my decisions were based in the best interest for your health).

The one thing I have learned from this experience is that the Maiden Family is truly special and I pride myself in being a part of this.

I can't thank you all enough.

Let's all wish Paul all the best on his upcoming operations.

Paul - see you in Croatia!

Kind regards,

Kastro Cart & Horses "

Jimmy Kay from Canada's The Metal Voice spoke to legendary former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'anno and Iron Maiden Author and publisher Stjepan Juras.

Di'anno's and Juras spoke about their meeting with Iron Maiden main man Steve Harris and manager Rod Smallwood backstage at Maiden's Show in Croatia Sunday May 22, 2022.

The two also talked about the two new Di'anno singles to help raise funds for Di'anno's on going medical expenses.

Stejpan was asked about the new to Di'anno songs that will be released to help raise funds for Di'anno's medical costs

"In April we ran out of money and did not know what to do and we said you know what we can't ask people for money again unless we give them something. Now we need to give them something and people will buy and donate. I suggested we make two singles and sell them in a bundle with T-shirts. The reaction was very good. We made 666 bundles and in just 10 days we sold almost 500"

Di'anno was asked about his experience in meeting Steve Harris and Rod Smallwood after all these years in person

"Last weekend was absolutely amazing. Me and Steve (Harris) have always talked about Football (in the past) we always have. But we haven't met for a long time (in person). I met up with Steve's sister Linda first (that day) I haven't seen her in about 30 years and then Steve and then Rob (Smallwood) as well and it made my whole year. Last time I saw Rod Smallwood was in Rock in Rio about 7 years ago but I missed the Maiden show cause I was swamped with Bloody press and stuff."

When asked was it awkward talking to Steve Harris after many years

"No. it was great, I wish I wasn't in this sort of position (needing medical assistance). It was quite emotional. Now if it had been the first time we spoke together in 30 years it would have been maybe a little bit more weird. But as I said we talked about Football (in the past) and Steve phoned me up a couple of times from the Bahamas. We are two London boys from the East end, we are both a couple of happy go lucky geezers. I owe Steve dinner big time because he looked after my Mrs. after the last Maiden tour in the states in Connecticut in Hartford. He really looked after them he gave them backstage VIP and stuff. When I get my legs back I'll take him out to dinner. The next day (after the Maiden show in Croatia) Steve called me but I missed the call but I did text him back. What annoys me is everyone is spreading rumours around that we don't like each other (him and Iron Maiden) and stuff like that, I ain't got nothing with Iron Maiden at all and I tell you the show was brilliant (when he saw them perform in Croatia) absolutely amazing. "

Stjepan Juras, a MAIDEN fan and author of many MAIDEN-related books, is taking care of Paul during his stay in Croatia.

Di'Anno recorded two classic albums with IRON MAIDEN — a self-titled effort in 1980 and "Killers" in 1981 — before being fired and replaced by Bruce Dickinson. He went on to front a number of other bands, including KILLERS and BATTLEZONE, and released several solo records.
