When asked about his participation recording the 1986 Hear N' Aid Song Stars

"It was a funny thing because it (that experience) was a little insight for me about how other guys work because I always did my own thing. It was a bunch of guys (guitarists) doing (guitar) solos

"I was actually in Europe and I flew out just to do this (recording) and flew back to Europe again. I was on tour there. So, I was all jetlagged. So I'm there and they say, "Oh yeah, Brad Gillis is doing a solo." Okay, I figure that's going to take about half an hour or whatever. No, three hours or four. Four, something ridiculous like that. And I'm like, "Okay, well, he's taking his time. That's good. Who's next?" Oh, George Lynch. George Lynch went in that did took another five... well long time, you know, which is great for some people. They want to do it that way. And I just didn't really. I never really saw what other people do. So I was very surprised, you know, and then it was my turn and when I walked in, they had a Marshall stack and a boogie stack. Then they asked me, "Which stack do you want to play through?" Marshall obviously from the point I plugged into the Marshall and I walked out was 10 minutes, 15 minutes. Because Ronnie had sent me the tape of the chord progression (beforehand). I already knew the chord progression. You know, I don't like to do many takes because it's either you're in a zone and it happens. It's not going to get better because you do it five times. You wither do it and it's good or you have to step away."

Loved reading Yngwie’s memories of Hear ’n Aid! Typical Malmsteen—just fifteen minutes to track a legendary solo. Really looking forward to Hell of High Water and his 2026 Greece tour!Check out bombanana for more insights.

I was just sipping coffee and stumbled upon Yngwie saying he flew in jetlagged, watched others take hours for solos, then finished his own in 10 minutes! It's like a destiny matrix compatibility check for creative styles - some need time, some just zone in.
