DJ Neal Kay Shares Rush Hemispheres' Tour Stories About Geddy Lee & Neil Peart
The Metal Voice's Jimmy Kay Spoke to legendary DJ Neal Kay (Part 2) in an exclusive live interview. In this interview Neal Kay talks about his experience touring with Rush on the Hemispheres tour in the UK, plus Iron Maiden stories such as Blaze Bayley; Clive Burr's Exit; Dennis Stratton; Iron Maiden songwriting court case;
On the topic of touring with Rush Kay Said," I did the Hemisphere's tour with Rush and they so impressed me. On that tour it was Geddy Lee who I most spoke to, Neil Peart was very private. In fact Neil Peart hated people seeing him, when he walked to the drum kit he had a tunnel built of black velvet curtains that led to the side of the stage right up to the drum kit. He also had a bible in his hand and he read it all the way to the drum kit. Alex Lifeson was friendly. Geddy Lee once came over to me on evening when I was playing sounds before they went on and he said can I have a look at your record cases and we were talking about some of the bands, what a nice guy and so talented. Rush comes across to me more as university professors rather than rocks stars."
