AC/DC shook the foundations of Montreal’s Parc Jean Drapeau on Saturday night, to the delight of a capacity crowd of 45,000 decked out in devil horns and schoolboy outfits. Angus Young continues to play the role of the Energizer Bunny and led the way with his guitar pyrotechnics; Brian Johnson, after years of struggles, and at the age of 78, has found his whiskey snarled voice again (minus a few in-ear monitor issues); the rhythm section of Stevie Young (guitar), Chris Chaney (bass), and Matt Laug (drums) proved solid and filled the roles vacated by their predecessors nicely.

A hit-heavy setlist, with some deeper cuts and a couple of newbies from the band’s latest release, PWR Up, thrown in for good measure, had three generations of fans dancing in the park. If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It) - the show opener, Shot Down In Flames, Riff Raff, and High Voltage were standouts, along with the obvious standards.

If this turns out to be their final Montreal performance, AC/DC went out with heads and fists held high.
The Rolling Stones… nah. Give me AC/DC as the world’s greatest working Rock’n Roll band!
