Judas Priest says NO to K.K. Downing's Request to be included in 50 Year Anniversary

November 25, 2019

In recent EXCLUSIVE interview on  Conexion Rock MAGAZINE , former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing was asked by the magazine if he asked or was asked to participate in Judas Priest 50 year anniversary celebrations in any way. Downing replied, "recently I contacted the band and asked them if they would, or are considering my participation  in the 50th anniversary. I said to them the world wants to know and their answer was, no, Judas Priest is not including me.

When asked about his future  plans K.K. responded," Judas Priest was my creation, when I was a kid, when I was young, it has been my life and my legacy. So to play with Ripper Owen, Les Binks and Dave Ellefson and A.J. Mills it was great to be back on stage again and playing Judas Priest songs that I worked hard all my life creating and playing and that's what I am planning to continue to do. "

A press statement was published today  on K.K.Downing's Steel Mill Website

K.K.Downing press release on K.K. Facebook page

”First of all, I want to once again express my huge appreciation to all fans worldwide for the overwhelmingly positive response to my Bloodstock appearance in August and the Wolverhampton gig in early November. I am truly humbled and grateful.

I am also taken aback with the compelling fan outcry for me to participate in the Judas Priest 50th anniversary celebrations next year. Consequently, I felt the right thing to do was to reach out to my former band-mates to gather their thoughts on this, and their response is they are not receptive to my participation in the band and they do not intend to include me in the 50th anniversary celebrations.

However, the great news for the fans is that I will be continuing to forge ahead, I am looking very much forward to seeing you all on the road in 2020. Together we will take on the world”

In Wolverhampton, Downing, Ellefson, Binks and Owens performed an 14-song set that featured a number of JUDAS PRIEST classics and rarities.
