Harris, the man behind much-loved songs like Run To The Hills and Number of the Beast, told The Sun Online that he hoped youngsters would play the game and be drawn into the cult of Iron Maiden.
“As many parents will tell you, we now absorb games from our kids playing them,” he said.
“Back in the day we were all gamers of a sort I suppose, in arcades and on pinball machines, but now our kids have their mobiles or Xbox and PlayStation.
They’re playing online, competing globally and it’s amazing to see those gaming communities.”
Legacy of the Beast has been warmly welcomed by old and new fans, with reviewers praising the game on Apple’s App Store and Google Play.
